President, Board of Directors, Cumberland Central Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), 1986-87. Former member, Advisory Board, New Dominion School. Western Maryland community relations representative to Maryland Environmental Service. Outstanding Maryland Public Official, Chemical Industry Council of Maryland, 1990. Legislative Law Enforcement Friend of the Year, Fraternal Order of Police, Maryland State Lodge, Inc., 1991. Legislator of the Year, Maryland State's Attorneys' Association, 1991.
